Big boy, Grand garçon

My little boy turned 4 yesterday. 

He's a funny and sweet boy who surprises me everyday. At the age of two, he was diagnosed with verbal dyspraxia. Since then, he has worked with a speech therapist and made so much progress.  Every week, I'm amazed at how much he want's to learn and how he is willing to repeat and repeat, without loosing his patience or his smile. For a long time, I worried for him, but now I believe he will be ready for school in one year. But I'm not sure I will be ready to let my baby go... (don't tell him I called him that.  He doesn't like it!).

Mon petit garçon a eu 4 ans hier. 

C'est un petit garçon très drôle et tendre qui me surprend tous les jours. À l'âge de deux ans, il a reçu un diagnostique de dyspraxie verbale grave.  Depuis il a travaillé avec une orthophoniste et fait tellement de progrès. Toutes les semaines, il répète et répète des sons, des mots et des phrases.  Sa volonté d'apprendre et sa patience m'impressionnent.  Pendant longtemps j'ai été très inquiète pour lui, mais maintenant je crois qu'il sera prêt pour l'école dans un an.  Mais je ne crois pas que je serai prête à laisser partir mon bébé...(ne lui dites pas que je l'ai appelé bébé, il n'aime pas ça!)

Perfect addition, Parfaite acquisition

Like I've told you, my mom was a big thrift shopper.  I'v brought back this fun vintage chair-step-stool from her home.  My boy is reel happy with it. It replaces the old Ikea kid-chair that recently broke.   It's like it was meant to be...  

I'm going back this weekend to my mom's appartement with my brothers and aunts to do some cleaning. It's hard to go back to her place, but it will be easier with my family.

Comme je vous le disas ma mère adorait les friperies et magasins d'aubaines.  J'ai rapporté de chez elle cette jolie chaise-escabeau vintage.  Mon garçon l'adore. Elle remplace parfaitement la vieille chaise junior d'Ikea qui a brisé récemment.  Une merveilleuse coïncidence... 

En fin-de-semaine, je retourne à l'appartement de ma mère avec mes frères et mes tantes pour faire du ménage. Ce n'est pas facile de retourner chez elle, mais avec ce sera plus facile avec la présence de ma famille.

It's magic! C'est magique!

Kids are amazing!  Little "I" had an operation last Friday and here she is, 6 days later, participating in her school circus show. I'm so proud of her. I have a lot to learn from her great resilience.

Les enfants sont étonnants!  Petite "I" a eu une opération vendredi dernier et la voilà six jours plus tard qui participe au spectacle de cirque de son école. Je suis tellement fière d'elle. Elle m'en apprend beaucoup sur la résilience.

Taking it easy, Tout doucement

I'm so happy June is here! The month of May has been, lets say, difficult.  But now that my mother's funeral is behind us, that we found a nice used car to replace our old one in wich I've had an accident (I'm ok), that my dad is recovering nicely from his hip replacement operation, that my little I is back to school after her surgery for an hernia, life is slowly getting to normal. Thank you so much for your very nice thoughts.  They meant a lot to me and will help me get through this.

Enfin le mois de juin est arrivé!  Le mois de mai a été, disons, difficile. Mais maintenant que les funérailles de ma mère se sont bien déroulées, que nous avons trouvé une bonne voiture usagée pour remplacer celle avec laquelle j'ai eu un accident (je vais bien), que mon père se remet tranquillement de son opération pour une nouvelle hanche,  que ma petite I est de retour en classes après son opération pour une hernie, la vie reprend doucement son cours. Je tiens à vous remercier pour vos gentilles pensées.  Elles m'ont beaucoup touchée et vont m'encourager à passer à travers.
